Rishikesh is a city near dehradun also known as the Yoga capital of the World. Lakshman Jhula
It is the main source of attraction for the pilgrims of different cultures comes in Rishikesh and was constructed from the times of British Rule between 1927 to 1929. In the visit of Rishikesh, almost each and every person arrives here to have the experience of Lakshman Jhula and enjoy the scenic beauty from the Jhula.
But from some times, Lakshman Jhula is found unsafe for travelling of visitors or any person. Uttarakhand Chief Minister, Trivendra Singh Rawat received recommendations from the engaged experts of IIT Roorkee declared it Unsafe. But the Government is not going to dismantle the Lakshman Jhoola but preserved as Heritage Property.
Bajrang Setu is going to be first Glass Bridge of North India fitted with the latest technical aspects. The height of the towers of bridge will be around 27 metres and total length of the bridge will be 133 metres consisting of three lanes. Small four wheelers will be able to pass from this Bridge. Both sides of the markets of Lakshman Jhula was effected after closing. But this new Bridge is the new hope for the shopkeepers and tourists who specially visits Rishikesh to enjoy the views by standing over the Bridge.
Triveni Ghat
It is the most famous Ghat situated in Rishikesh at the banks of Ganga. People comes here to take holy bath in the river and washed out their sins. Peoples also came here to perform the last rites of their loved ones.
The Triveni Ghat in Rishikesh is popularly known for Ganga Arti performed with the chants of Vedic Hymns. The crowd of peoples at the time of Arti is too much. Maximum crowds of tourist here is between the Arti hours. The Ghat is open for 24 hours but the timings of Arti is between 06:00 pm to 07:00 pm. Peoples light Dia’s on a leave and pours in the river. All of these were the reasons which makes this place sacred for pilgrims who wishes a religious tour of this place.
Neelkanth Mahadev Temple
This temple, according to the Hindu Mythology is a place where Lord Shiva consumed the poison namely Hala-Hal obtained from the Samundra Manthan. This temple is approx. 29.3 kilometres away from Rishikesh.
There is a scene of Samundra Manthan by the Gods and Demons is clearly seen at the entrance of the Mandir and the full story is written on the walls. Pilgrims came here in the temple in order to worship the Shivlinga and also baths in the natural spring of water located in the Temple premises.
Ram Jhula
Located 3 kilometres from Rishikesh and built in 1986, this bridge is almost as famous as Lakshman Jhula Bridge. Ram Jhula connects Sivananda Ashram with Gita Bhawan and many other temples situated in Swarg Ashram. Although, Ram Jhula’s design is almost same as that of Lakshman Jhula but this bridge is large in size than later. In this bridge, bikes are allowed. Both sides of Ram Jhula is enriched with markets and pilgrims crowd. Ram Jhula is located in the Ganga Vatika area of Rishikesh.
Tera Manzil Temple
This temple is the best source of attraction for the tourists in Rishikesh. The huge 13 stories building architecture is famous for its design and uniqueness. The temple is located at the bank of Ganga River near to Lakshman Jhula.
Tera Manzil Temple also known as Trayambakeshwar Temple. The temple is seen through Lakshman Jhula clearly.
This temple has many rooms of several God’s and Goddess’s and also rooms for selling religious items inside the temple premises.
