Mussoorie also known by its famous name i.e. Queen of Hills is situated in the beautiful and the most famous of Indian State Uttrakhand. The state is known for its several hill stations and most famous Tourist Attractions of India.

Mussoorie is a hill station in Dehradun City and is 35 km far from it. Mussoorie lies in the Garhwal Himalayan Range at an elevation of 2005 mtrs.

Mussoorie got its name from a shrub called Mansoor found in this area.

Peoples visits this place from Trains, Busses, Cars etc. But in my opinion if you lived above 300 Kms. from this place then Trains are the best option as you donot feels tiredness while travelling. But in my personal opinion I prefer my personal Car. 

Best time to visit the place is in summers as this place gives relaxation from heat and hot climate. People across the country visits this place mostly in summers and enjoys its cool weather and scenic views of the valley. Tourists from different places visits the place in winters also to observe Snowfall  and there are several Places to visit in Mussoorie in 2 days.

Bhadraj Temple

This temple is also known as Lord Balram Temple, the brother of Lord Krishna. This temple came into existence after the war of Mahabharata. This temple is made up of wood in early times but after renovation it emits its shines in White Marble as it enhances its beauty to several times and is also considered as the sign of purity and simplicity.

In the temple, lord Balram’s statue is often cleaned with milk. Butter, ghee etc. are used to serve Prasad in the temple.


Dhanaulti



Dhanautli is a hill station situated near Mussoorie. Many activities for the adventurers makes this place worth visiting like Sky walk, Rock Climbing, Trekking, Paragliding etc. Garhwal Himalayas snow and the scenic beauty of Doon valley can be viewed from this place that makes an awesome view for the visitors.

Mall Road



This place is situated in the heart of Mussoorie. Again this place is also enriched with a lot of scenic views of Doon Valley. There are several view points in the Mall Road with fixed benches with a tall pole of light. The houses here gives the look of British Architecture here. This place is the major location for shopping and entertainment stuff like gaming etc. Here, one can also enjoys the food in small and big restaurants / food points.


Camel’s back road

The name of the place is famous from a rock shaped like camel hump’s. This place offers a peaceful walk with views of the valley and nature for about 3 km. Although, this place is very calm and peaceful but in summers little crowd can be witnessed. Here, sunrise and sunsets views we also popular. Horses and Rikshaws are also available for the persons unable to walk continuously for long time.


Lal Tibba



The other meaning of Lal Tibba is also Red Hill. Again this place is also famous for its scenic beauty and views and is most populated place in Mussoorie. In this place, many Government Departments are also there like All India Radio and Doordarshan and also is a camp of Indian Military. Best time to visit here is summers.


Gun Hill



Gun Hill is at the second large peak of Mussoorie at an altitude of 2024 mtrs. approx. The hill is named as Gun Hill because of the presence of a canyon from the times of British Raj. The main source of attraction in the place is Cable Car / Ropeway. One can reach the Gun Hill point by walking in 20-25 minutes from the Mall in Mussoorie.



Kempty Falls

At an elevation of 1400 mtrs. from sea level, the place is popular and oldest in Mussoorie. This place was developed by a British officer at the time of British Raj in India for the tea parties and small gathering. Here, 40 ft. Long waterfalls is the main source of attraction and peoples enjoys the bathing here. Tourists can visit this place from 08:00 to 05:00 and peak time to travel here is from June to October.


Lake Mist

The lake is just 5 km behind the Kempty falls through which water flows in the Kempty river by small waterfalls. The timings of the place is from 08:00 am to 06:30 pm. Here one can enjoys the peaceful atmosphere surrounded by nature and less crowd of peoples. The resort here is famous for providing boating, accommodating facilities.



Mussoorie Lake

This was developed in 1994 by the city board and MDDA. In this lake, one can enjoys the boating while enjoys the Doon Valley and villages nearby.



Bhatta Fall

This place is about 7 km from the Mussoorie. It is a natural waterfall which is 30 feet in height. One can also enjoy the newly constructed Ropeway. The timings of Bhatta Fall is 08:00 am to 06:00 pm.
