Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga (7th Jyotirlinga)

   - Tarakasura knew that Shiva and Parvati were childless, therefore Lord Brahma gave upon him the blessing that only Shiva's son could destroy him.

 - In response to the threat created by Tarakasura, Lord Shiva formed the Vishwanath Jyotirlinga by projecting a dazzling column of light from his third eye.

  - Due to religious intolerance, the Kashi Vishwanath Temple had difficulties and even cases of demolition throughout the Mughal Empire.

   - Qutb-ud-din Aibak and Aurangzeb, two Mughal emperors, repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt the shrine.

 - The current Kashi Vishwanath Temple was rebuilt in the 18th century thanks to the efforts of Queen Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore.
